Nestled within the picturesque heart of Thiruvalla, an idyllic town in central Travancore, Kerala, lies the Pushpagiri group of institutions. The multifaceted Pushpagiri Medical College encompasses the Institute of Medical Sciences, College of Dental Sciences, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, and the College of Allied Health Sciences.

At the helm of innovation, the Pushpagiri Research Centre, affectionately known as PRC, stands as the brainchild and bold venture of Reverend Dr. Mathew Mazhavancheril. Recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, PRC was inaugurated in 2009. Nestled within the Pushpagiri Medical College Campus, PRC serves as a pivotal research hub. It boasts an open-plan, versatile research laboratory and diligently fosters research across diverse scientific domains, including Tissue Engineering, Phytoceutical Research, Molecular Biology, Cell Culture, Microbial Technology, Biochemistry, and Epidemiology.

PRC offers a distinctive, inclusive, and unbounded research environment, backed by state-of-the-art infrastructure and cutting-edge instruments (a comprehensive instrument list is appended). Numerous research initiatives receive funding from both State and Central Government bodies, such as DST, DBT, ICMR, BRNS, and esteemed international organizations like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The primary focus of PRC lies in the translation of laboratory concepts into thriving commercial ventures. Presently, the research center is actively engaged in investigations related to wound healing, tissue regeneration, Molecular Biology, Virology, Infectious diseases, clinical epidemiological studies, and collaborative clinical trials with various esteemed institutions. PRC has established Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with diverse government entities, including CIFT-Kochi, MG University-Kottayam, and private institutions like MACFAST Tiruvalla, Bishop Moore College Mavelikara, VIT University, CUSAT (Cochin University of Science Technology), and SJRI (St. John Research Institute, Bangalore, Stockholm University).
